PANORAMA LANDSCAPE MIXER
Vision for an Inviting Nature Pavilion
Study for a hospitality pavilion integrated in the landscape, 600 sqm, Leukermeer Limburg, The Netherlands
“Imagine: a beautiful unique place, fully serving it’s green surroundings, bringing people together for versatile year-round use.”
Creating the Ideal Place for a Hospitality Retreat
The future beach pavilion marks the spot where Leukermeer and Strandbad Seurenheide almost meet. It will be a landmark, part of a series of attractions in this green environment. The different landscapes of beach, forest, open field, and water are strategically staged for a spectacular experience. An adapted winding route makes space for the pavilion and slows down cyclists and pedestrians. Passersby are enticed to stay at this beautiful place with new surprising views over water and land.
Pavilion as a Mixer of People and Landscapes
The beach rises up into the open heart of the round estate. The open generous roof structure provides shelter from sun, wind, and rain. It offers a place for hospitality and beach facilities and creates flexible open space for many uses. It frames the beautiful vistas. Beach visitors, water sports enthusiasts, and passersby gather here year-round for a bite, a drink, and the ever-changing activities under the open roof.
Sustainable Development
The building will be energy-neutral, circular, and emission-free. It will be built nitrogen-free from sustainable biobased materials, fully demountable, lightweight, and as much as possible prefabricated nearby. The light construction method can be assembled by electric cranes with simple non-destructive foundations and minimal excavation, requiring less heavy transport, and nitrogen does not play a decisive role. The roof shape provides space for solar panels and nature. Vertical and horizontal parts offer nesting and hiding places for birds, bats, insects, and other animals.
Estate Serving Nature
In the beautiful Maasduinen nature, this is a unique place where lovers of outdoor life, nature, and culture can stay at a fantastic estate. It’s a spectacular new experience which serves the nature. Here you are both a part and a spectator of the interplay between humans and nature, enjoying all the surrounding beauty.
